About Chef/Owner Louis Moskow
Born in New York, Louis Moskow knew from an early age that cuisine was his calling. He was determined to make his dream of mastering the cooking techniques of the great cultures of the world a reality. He began his training at the Culinary Institute of America, where he married the fine art of California cuisine with the flavors of New England. He then headed South to study the complex creole cooking of New Orleans. But unable to ignore his desire to travel internationally he continued his journey in Europe, where he studied the cuisines of Bavaria and Italy. Finally landing in Santa Fe in 1995, Moskow became a partner in the hugely successful
315 Restaurant and Wine Bar. But his dream of opening a re-invented American Steakhouse never wavered, and so was born The Railyard Restaurant & Saloon.
Located near the train tracks in Santa Fes historic Railyard District, the restaurant quickly gained a large and devoted clientele who recognized the uniqueness of Moskows vision and the excellence of his cuisine. The Santa Fe Reporter took note as well, naming The Railyard 2006 Restaurant of the Year. Also in 2006, Moskow made the decision to open a second restaurant, and looked north to the beautiful city of Boulder, Colorado. In May 2007, The Railyard Restaurant & Saloon / Boulder, located near the citys train tracks in the Twenty-Ninth Street Mall, opened it doors to rave reviews.
